Roland Alpha Juno-1
Roland Alpha Juno-1 - This has a digital multi-mode oscillator, and analogue filter and chorus. The best of both worlds I guess you could say. Programming is done via the alpha-dial, so it's not as immediate as my analogues, but still fairly simple to do. There are also software interfaces available which make the job easier. A very good, compact synth.
This is the Behringer BCR2000, a relatively inexpensive MIDI control box which I bought to interface with the Alpha Juno. It makes patch programming and real-time parameter control a snap. It's a little tricky to set up initially, so I've written a brief tutorial which you can download below (.rtf format):
